Inbound Marketing VS Outbound Marketing
Today I will discuss an interesting topic with you. Although I'm sure the name of the post doesn't seem like a lot of fun to you.
But if I tell you that after reading this post today, if you can understand the subject better, then hopefully you will never have to read this book again in this life due to lack of money or money will come to you in search of money, then I hope you feel free to read this post. Feel interested.
Anyway, let's talk about a childhood TV commercial. The two brothers love to watch the "Tom and Jerry" cartoon. But sadly there is no TV in their house.
As a result, they secretly went to the next house and watched TV. Sitting on the sofa next door watching TV is not the case. There is a little girl in that house who also watches the "Tom and Jerry" cartoon herself.
When the girl left the TV and went to watch the cartoon, the two brothers ran from their house to watch the cartoon. But the girl does not go less.
If he can guess in any way that the two brothers are watching TV through their window, he immediately closes the window.
The two brothers then returned home upset. So one day their father bought a TV for them and from then on they would never go to the house next door to watch TV.
Many of you may be wondering why I told you about a TV ad so many years ago after so many years!
If you think about it a little better, you will see that if those two brothers did not go to the house next door to watch TV like this every day, but their father might not have bought this TV for them.
This means that their father has brought the TV out of necessity so that his son does not have to bother to hide in people's homes and watch TV. He saw an advertisement on a TV but did not buy it.
This is basically the real surprise!
Did you notice one thing? You will often see that in the Farmgate area of Dhaka or in other locally populated places, many people sell Ernaji Light Company for only Rs. 100 for the promotion of Rs. 300.
If you notice, sometimes you will see one or two buyers going and buying lights for 1 or 2 hours with 100 rupees. But when the light in your house suddenly breaks or fuses, do you go to Farmgate to buy that 300 rupees energy light company for 100 rupees?
You go to the shop next to your house and buy a light for 100 rupees or 150 rupees.
Well, think about it, you went to the shop next to your house and bought the light with 50 rupees more. Did that person tell you in his life to buy a light from his shop?
Because then you need that product. Not just needed. If you didn't buy that product then you would have to sit at the dining table that night and eat rice in the dark. So if the shopkeeper asked you for 160 rupees instead of 150 rupees, you might have bought the thing with him a little bargain or you would have taken two more steps to buy it from the shop next to him.
But even if you forgot, you would never go to that Farmgate to buy an energy light of 300 rupees and 100 rupees.
This is exactly what works for you online.
I will give you another example now. Suppose you need to create a website now. You know that there is an office 2 km away from your office who makes this kind of website.
But you also know that you have a nephew who is busy with all this. Then when you log in to her Facebook profile to see if she's online now, you see what she has to keep in mind in her timeline when creating a website, if she makes a mistake, it's annoying to the user of the website. Maybe I made a post about 2 hours ago.
Not only that, but he is also publishing one or another post like this every day. Surely it will work in your head then, then your nephew can do a very good job with making this website.
You may then call him directly without texting him. I talked to him on the phone for 5/10 minutes and gave him the job of making a website. Notice, when you first thought of doing the work with him, but you did not decide that you will do the work with him. You had an idea that I don't see what happens. Katja does something like, make a site or not.
Besides, you also think that if you knock on that company next to your office, they will demand a bill of Rs 30,000 from you. If he does it with his nephew, maybe the work can be done within 15/20 thousand rupees.
Then when you go into his profile and see that he has made several posts on this subject in his profile Facebook post, then the idea came to you that the work can be done with him. Then if he wants 25 thousand rupees instead of 20 thousand rupees, you should not object too much.
Because you understand that he is very experienced in this matter. At least the users will not be bothered to use your website if you do the work with him as he maintains them himself as well as informs the people about them and at the end of the day you give him the job.
The fact that you created your website with your nephew and paid him, but it was possible through that one Facebook post. Because that's what gave you the belief that if you do the work with your nephew, at least you think the quality of the work and the output is good.
This is inbound marketing.
Therefore, the marketing method in which the buyer will come to you to buy a product or service from you, we can call it inbound marketing (which stands for Khas Bangla). 😅
As such, the gigs that we keep open on Fiber also fall into the category of inbound marketing. Because we don't go to the client's post and bid; Rather, it is the client who finds us.
Now I hope you have already understood what outbound marketing is 50%. The fact that we see so many advertisements on TV, so many advertisements in the newspapers is basically outbound marketing.
Because different types of ads may be shown to you here. Suppose you are sitting watching TV. At that time an advertisement of Radhuni powder is being shown in front of you. Well, the Radhuni company is promoting this ad, but it has cost them some marketing. They had to pay the TV channel for this.
But you see the advertisement that you will buy this molasses spice from the shop in life (you can buy. But brother you will not buy it. Because I do not always do anything from home cooking to the market).
Certainly not.
It would have benefited your mother or your wife to show it. Those who cook at home or market-always do the work.
But the fact that you saw the ad did not waste some money on the Radhuni company?
Of course, it did. Because that TV channel has taken money from them.
This is exactly what is called outbound marketing. So you go to the customer and do the marketing. Buyers will not come to you. There is a huge risk involved. If you do this outbound marketing like Radhuni Company then you too may lose some money.
Because you can never reach 100% of the targeted customer.
One thing is for sure, many of you know that it costs a bit more to add on Google than on Facebook.
Do you know the reason? To be honest, if you think a little naturally you will see that on Facebook but usually, no people come to buy anything. They come here to stay social.
On the other hand, when a person searches for "buy iPhone x" on Google, he searches for it. Of course, we Bangladeshis do a lot of searching to know the price of the product. But in foreign countries, they usually search to buy the product.
Does this mean that you (the buyer) are going to Google yourself to buy the product (inbound marketing)? The seller is not coming to you.
On the other hand, I did not come to Facebook to buy your product, you came to me praising your product to get some money out of my pocket (outbound marketing). I came here (on Facebook) to chat with my friends. But since you've advertised, I'm basically looking at it.
Note: Now with Facebook's audience setup and Facebook retargeting feature, you can get your post to your desired customer if you want. However, in that case, it is also a matter of seeing whether the customer is buying or not.
But when a person goes to Google and searches by typing "buy iPhone x", he searches by typing it because he is in buying mode. Because I don't really know if people on Google usually search for something as a hobby.
Now think. What do you do to Go to the client and do marketing (outbound marketing) or bring the client to your own by marketing (inbound marketing)?
If you do straight Bengali, which means, will you run after money or will you run after money?
Hope you understand. Thanks.
